weather forecast
Winter is making its presence felt throughout this week. After an initial cold front at the start of the week, a ridge of high pressure from the Atlantic will make itself felt on Tuesday and Wednesday. However, the cold air that has flowed in cannot be pushed away. Despite sunshine, it will remain cold in early winter, and temperatures will drop significantly below zero, especially on clear nights. On Wednesday, there will also be a temporary light foehn wind, with high clouds marking a slight easing of the frost at higher altitudes. But on Thursday, the next cold front will bring another surge of polar cold air from the north. This will further deepen winter across Central Europe, which is set to continue for some time. Light snowfall is still possible with mostly heavy cloud cover on Friday and on Saturday.
