Although high air pressure will continue to dictate our weather until the middle of the coming week, on Monday an upper-level low will temporarily bring more cloud and a few rain showers. Tuesday and Wednesday will then treat us once again to plenty of sunshine and pleasantly warm temperatures. For the time being, only harmless clouds will mingle with the sunshine. On Thursday, however, the weather will change significantly with the arrival of a strong cold front. Any final clear spells in the morning will soon be followed by dense rain clouds. The afternoon will bring prolonged heavy rain, with the snow line already dropping well below 2,000 metres by the evening. On Friday, further showers will follow, accompanied by a strong north-westerly wind, and the snow line is likely to drop well below 1,500 metres. The weather will remain changeable this coming weekend, but in terms of temperatures, this first early-winter cold snap will already have been offset.
