The new Schindlergrat gondola lift
After 40 successful years of operation, we replaced the 3-seater chairlift connecting Arlenmähdern and the Schindlergrat – our Schindlergratbahn – at the end of the last winter season. A truly modern monocable gondola lift with 68 gondolas, each with space for up to ten passengers, is going to replace the previous unit.
The starting point of the new gondola lift will be positioned about 30 metres south of the former valley station, providing an easy link to the existing pistes.
Also up on the mountain, the new gondola lift is providing stunning new and extremely attractive options: while the route will stay the same, the former mountain station of the 3-seater chairlift will be replaced by a middle stop. As a result, our passengers will be able to get out and use one of our many slopes from this point.
You can also continue for another 420 metres north-east towards the new mountain station, close to the exit point of the Valluga T-bar lift. This place is a remarkably attractive starting point as you can either ski the Schindlergrat and Mattun pistes or the Valfagehr.
The company has set another milestone with this new gondola lift transporting 2,800 people per hour, granting unlimited skiing fun in the Valluga area.
