weather forecast
The weather models are providing reliable forecasts for the period up to and including Friday, but there is still considerable uncertainty about the weekend. On Thursday, an Italian low-pressure system will move towards the Alps, bringing moist air from the Mediterranean region. At the same time, colder air will reach us from the north. This combination will cause persistent winter weather conditions above 1000 meters above sea level. However, as the snowfall will be heavy at times, the snow line may also be lower. There will be little change in this until Friday morning. Friday itself will start with the remnants of a nighttime disturbance. The last snowfall will subside in the morning, but the clouds will only break up slowly. In addition, new, dense clouds from a warm front will move in by Saturday. However, weather models have not yet conclusively determined how this will actually affect the weather. The only certainty is that the weather will remain very changeable over the weekend with strong northwesterly winds. This will be accompanied by significantly milder air. The snow line will rise to around 2000 meters above sea level by Sunday. Some precipitation is also possible on Sunday. Next week will start off more pleasant with continued mild temperatures.
